Course on Implementing AML/CFT standards – Enhancing Beneficial Ownership Transparency Frameworks (AMLS)
September 10th to 14th, 2023
Facilitated by the Legal Department (LEG); equipped participants from MENA countries involved in AML/CFT as well as corporate transparency issues with the tools to implement the international standards on AML and CFT with a particular emphasis on the FATF’s recent March 2022 update regarding the transparency of legal persons.
Upon completion of the course, participants were able to draw up a medium-term plan to establish ownership transparency frameworks in their respective countries, as well as be able to identify policy, legal and regulatory considerations required in setting up beneficial ownership registers within a country..
