The two-day face-to-face on the IMF’s Revised Multiple Currency Practices Policy (MCPs) course held during September 18-19, 2023, was facilitated by the Legal Department and the Capital Flows Unit of the IMF's Monetary and Capital Markets Department.
Participants from MENA countries are government officials involved in foreign exchange regulation and supervision, and exchange rate and FX market regulations. The course covered the comprehensive review of policy on multiple currency practices (MCPs) that the Fund completed on July 1, 2022. That review focused on updating the MCP policy to consider developments in foreign exchange markets and emerging operational issues, and to align the MCP policy with other relevant IMF policies..
