Course on Transport, Energy, and Sustainability - Protecting the Planet in MENA (TESPP)

Transport is a significant contributor to GHG emissions globally and in MENA region it’s share is estimated to be around 20%-25%. It is also consuming vast amounts of energy, with most of the transport modes still relying heavily on fossil fuels. So, the sector needs to advance transition to more widespread use of efficient and lower energy intense solutions, including towards electric mobility and wider use of alternative fuels. Avoid-Shift-Improve paradigm helps in addressing these challenges and different aspects of this approach are followed by the most advanced countries of the world but are also increasingly adopted by many countries of MENA region.
