Fundamentals of Behavioral Science in Public Policy (BSPP)

Policymakers are increasingly turning to behavioral science to tackle complex and persistent policy challenges. Traditional policy design often overlooks the contextual, psychological, and social factors that shape human decision-making. A behaviorally informed approach goes beyond economic incentives and regulations to consider the subtle, but powerful, influences embedded in bureaucracies, technologies, and service delivery—factors that can make or break the success of development programs, particularly in low-income contexts.
