Gender Inequality and Macroeconomics (GM)

This course, presented by the Institute for Capacity Development, highlights the macroeconomic implications of gender inequality and provides an overview of policy measures to help empower women. The training discusses trends over time and across countries in gender inequality, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, stresses the importance of closing gender gaps for inclusive and sustainable growth, and analyzes policy options in the fiscal, labor, financial, and legal areas to help address gender inequality. The delivery emphasizes on active learning through a mix of lectures, workshops, facilitated break-out sessions, homework assignments, and presentations by participants. The goal is to help participants apply the knowledge and skills they will acquire to analyze the key gender-related challenges in their own country and formulate prioritized reform programs.
